Blackpool Urban Arts (BUA) is a gathering of people dedicated to Parkour and other such movements (arts) along the North/West coast of England.
We are not an affiliated group, but a gathering!
As a group we are here only to learn and enjoy Parkour and other movements/arts. Other groups are more than welcome to join and their input/training/advice is always appriciated.
BUA is mainly for those who are out to gain something in life based on athletic ability. They may be down for the group feel, and for the help and to learn from another's point of view, or they may only be down to watch or criticise. Either way we are not to be considered as a particular group, I cannot stress this enough.
BUA, not just for Parkour... we also welcome 'Trickers', 'Freerunners', 'Martial artists', even 'Break-dancers' and many more.
All ages and sizes are welcome. Based on the idea that Parkour is a way to train yourself and to learn ones self, this suggests that anyone can participate as it is down to the individual to overcome their own pressures, goals and objectives. And one major benefit is that this is completely free, the only thing we ask that you bring is comfortable clothing and a happy persona.
"Parkour focuses on practising efficient movements to develop one's body and mind to be able to overcome obstacles in an emergency." -David Belle
Come all, come many.
